Core mat for open mould processes
Introduction of core mat
Coremat® was developed and launched by Lantor in 1974. It is the first dedicated layered core material for open-mold processes such as hand lay-up (HLU) and spray-up (SU), with hand lay-up being the most widely applied method.
Based on polyester fiber mat and embedded with microspheres, it delivers lightweight performance while enhancing the rigidity of finished products, and greatly cuts down the consumption of high-cost raw materials.
Other core mats available on the market for hand lay-up applications include the T series of Japan’s U-PICA mat and the MATLINE series from France’s PGI.
U-PICA mat work as a laminate bulker/ print control mat in order to provide remarkable workability, cost and weight advantages in FRP laminates. In fact U-PICA MAT's laminated density is only about half of that of
fiberglass laminated mat.
The MATLINE™️ range of flexible core materials is trusted by
composite and fiber reinforced plastic manufacturers
working within the aerospace, construction, marine and
wind energy industries.
