High-performance flow media + lightweight core in one material, designed for vacuum infusion and RTM (Resin Transfer Molding) processes.
In composite manufacturing, achieving fast, stable resin flow while reducing weight and cost is critical. Traditional solutions often require separate flow media, core materials, and multiple auxiliary layers.
Our Core Mat for Infusion & RTM is developed as a cost-effective alternative to Lantor Composites Soric® series, offering comparable processing performance for complex composite structures.
Core mat is a hybrid structural flow medium, combining:
· Lightweight polyester nonwoven structure
· Internal “channels” for controlled resin flow
· Compression-resistant micro-structure
· Built-in flow distribution capability
It functions as both:
✔ Resin flow media (replacing flow mesh / distribution net)
✔ Lightweight core (reducing resin consumption and weight)
The well-known Soric® structure is based on:
· Thermoformed polyester fleece layers
· Hexagonal micro-void structure
· Interconnected flow channels between cells
This design enables:
· Controlled resin distribution
· Stable infusion under vacuum pressure
· Reduced resin-rich zones
· Lightweight sandwich core behavior
Our Core Mat adopts a functionally equivalent engineered structure concept, optimized for stable industrial production:
· Controlled cell + channel flow architecture
· Optimized compression resistance balance
· Stable resin permeability under vacuum/RTM
· Cost-efficient mass production process
Designed for process substitution projects from Soric® users
We provide a full substitution system aligned with Lantor Soric® product families:
