Carbon fiber veil,also called carbon fiber surface mat,is made up of countless carbon fibre staple fibres arranged in parallel, which intertwine longitudinally and horizontally on the mat to form a mat-like structure.
It is used to increase the thickness and uniformity of the surface layer of the composite material, to enhance the impact and abrasion resistance of the surface layer, and also to improve the electrical conductivity of the composite material.
Carbon fibre surface veil can be used to increase the surface roughness and reduce the surface gap, which in turn improves the bonding and interfacial shear strength of the composite material.
Manufactured via a new wet-laid forming process, this carbon fiber tissue features uniform fiber distribution, a smooth surface, high air permeability, and strong adsorption capacity. In the sports and leisure sectors as well as composite material applications, it eliminates surface bubbles and pinholes in finished products, fills the mesh openings of carbon fiber fabrics, prevents the underlying structure from showing through in carbon fiber parts, delivers a more uniform and aesthetically pleasing surface finish, and effectively reduces labor costs.
