Carbon fiber veil,also called carbon fiber surface mat,is made up of countless carbon fibre staple fibres arranged in parallel, which intertwine longitudinally and horizontally on the mat to form a mat-like structure.
It is used to increase the thickness and uniformity of the surface layer of the composite material, to enhance the impact and abrasion resistance of the surface layer, and also to improve the electrical conductivity of the composite material.
Carbon fibre surface veil can be used to increase the surface roughness and reduce the surface gap, which in turn improves the bonding and interfacial shear strength of the composite material.
