JLON Marine Anti-Splashing Tape is designed to contain accidental spray or leakage of fuel oil, lubricating oil and other applicable flammable liquids from pressurized pipe flanges, valves, joints and fittings.
It is mainly used in ship engine rooms, machinery spaces, pump rooms and offshore installations where flammable liquid spray may reach hot surfaces or other ignition sources. The tape uses a reinforced laminated structure consisting of aluminum foil, glass fiber fabric, high-temperature adhesive and a protective release liner. This construction provides reliable mechanical protection, heat resistance and flexibility for wrapping around piping connections of different shapes and sizes.
With available widths from 35 mm to 1000 mm, JLON Anti-Splashing Tape can be supplied for a wide range of marine piping systems.

Marine anti-splashing tape, also referred to as anti-spray tape, flange spray protection tape or marine spray protection tape, is a protective wrapping material used around piping connections that may release flammable liquids under pressure.
Potential leakage points include:
Pipe flanges
• Valves
• Threaded connections
• Pipe joints
• Fittings
• Flexible connections
• Fuel and lubricating oil system connections
When leakage occurs under pressure, fuel oil or lubricating oil may form a fine spray. If the spray reaches hot machinery, exhaust components or another ignition source, it can create a serious fire hazard.
Anti-splashing tape helps contain and redirect this spray, providing an additional protective measure around potential leakage points.
It is particularly suitable for use in marine engine rooms and other machinery spaces where fire prevention is critical.
Pressurized fuel and lubricating oil systems are common in ship engine rooms.
Although flanges and pipe joints are designed to remain leak-free during normal operation, leakage can occur because of:
• Gasket deterioration
• Improper tightening
• Mechanical vibration
• Thermal cycling
• Corrosion
• Maintenance damage
• Seal failure
• Aging piping components
A small leak from a pressurized system can produce a high-velocity oil spray.
Anti-splashing tape creates a physical barrier around the potential leakage point so that escaping liquid is contained or redirected instead of spraying directly onto nearby machinery or hot surfaces.

The tape surrounds pipe joints and flanges to limit the uncontrolled spread of pressurized liquid.
It can be used in engine rooms, pump rooms and other locations where fuel or lubricating oil systems operate near machinery.
The tape can be wrapped around different flange diameters, valves and irregular connection geometries.
Widths from 35 mm to 1000 mm make it possible to select a suitable tape size for small pipe connections as well as large flanges.
Anti-splashing tape can normally be installed without major modification to existing piping systems.
JLON Anti-Splashing Tape uses a multilayer laminated construction designed for marine operating environments.
Aluminum foil provides an external protective barrier and contributes to heat resistance.
The metallic surface also helps protect the internal reinforcement layer from oil contamination and environmental exposure.
Glass fiber fabric provides mechanical strength and dimensional stability.
Compared with unsupported foil, glass fiber reinforcement improves resistance to tearing and deformation during installation and service.
A high-temperature adhesive is applied to one side of the tape to simplify installation around flanges, valves and piping connections.
Adhesive performance must always be considered in relation to the actual operating and surface temperature of the piping system.
A release film protects the adhesive during transportation and storage.
The liner is gradually removed during installation as the tape is wrapped around the required component.

Fuel oil lines are one of the most important applications for anti-splash protection because leakage near hot machinery may create a significant fire hazard.
The tape can be installed around:
• Fuel oil flanges
• Fuel pipe joints
• Valves
• Filters
• Pump connections
• Other potential leakage points
Pressurized lubricating oil systems may also produce spray if a flange, seal or connection fails.
Anti-splashing tape provides secondary protection around these potential leakage areas.
Engine rooms contain numerous piping systems operating close to engines, exhaust systems and other high-temperature equipment.
Anti-splashing tape can therefore form part of a broader engine-room fire prevention strategy.
The tape may be applied in machinery spaces where pressurized flammable-liquid piping is located near equipment or potential ignition sources.
Pump connections, valves and flanges are common leakage points.
Anti-splashing tape helps provide additional containment around these areas.
Offshore oil and gas installations also contain complex piping systems carrying fuels, lubricants and other liquids.
The tape can be used as secondary spray protection where the operating conditions fall within the specified product limits.
The flexible tape format makes it particularly suitable for irregular components that are difficult to protect using rigid shielding.

JLON Anti-Splashing Tape can be supplied in:
• Individual roll packaging
• Multiple-roll carton packaging
• Bulk export packaging
• Customized packaging according to customer requirements
Standard roll length is 10 meters.
For large-volume shipyard, ship-chandler, distributor or fleet-maintenance orders, customized labeling and packing requirements can be discussed.
Q:What is anti-splashing tape used for?
A: Anti-splashing tape is installed around pipe flanges, valves, joints and fittings to help contain pressurized spray caused by accidental leakage.
In marine applications, it is particularly used around fuel oil and lubricating oil piping systems in machinery spaces.
Q:Is anti-splashing tape the same as anti-spray tape?
A: In marine purchasing and maintenance applications, the terms anti-splashing tape, anti-spray tape, marine anti-splash tape and flange spray protection tape may be used to describe similar products designed to contain liquid spray from piping connections.
Q:Is anti-splashing tape required by SOLAS?
A: SOLAS fire-safety requirements address the prevention of flammable oil spray from reaching hot surfaces and ignition sources.
The exact protection method and approval requirement depends on the vessel, piping system, classification society, flag administration and project specification.
Anti-splashing tape is one method that may be used as part of the required spray-protection measures.
Q:What is the maximum operating temperature?
A:The specified maximum temperature is 160°C.
Actual surface temperature and adhesive operating conditions must also be considered.
