Product Features and Benefits

Two Film Grades for Different Processing Requirements

JLON offers P100 and NL150 vacuum bagging films to meet different curing temperatures, manufacturing processes and cost requirements.

P100 is a modified PE/PP film designed for cost-effective vacuum infusion. It has a specified exposure rating of 100°C for 60 minutes and a short peak-temperature rating of 120°C for no more than five minutes.

NL150 is a nylon PA6/PE film with a short-term temperature rating of 150°C, making it an option for selected medium-temperature composite processing applications.

Wide-Width Vacuum Bagging Film Supply

JLON provides regular bagging film widths up to 12 meters, helping composite manufacturers cover large molds with fewer film joints.

For selected P100 orders, customized film widths up to 16 meters are available.

Wide-format bagging film is particularly useful for fiberglass boat hulls, wind energy components and large industrial FRP structures.

High Elongation for Complex Mold Geometries

P100 has specified elongation at break of at least 600% in both machine and transverse directions, while NL150 provides at least 400%.

High elongation helps the film accommodate curved mold surfaces, corners and complex composite component geometries.

Proper film allowance and suitable bagging techniques remain essential for preventing bridging and localized strain.

Reliable Vacuum Bagging Performance

JLON standard vacuum bagging films are designed for use with compatible sealant tapes and vacuum bagging equipment.

They can be evaluated for processes operating at vacuum gauge pressures of approximately -0.08 to -0.095 MPa.

Actual vacuum integrity depends on the complete bagging assembly, including film condition, sealant tape, seams, fittings and processing conditions. Leak testing is recommended before resin infusion.

Standard Stock and Customized Sizes

JLON supplies multiple standard widths, film thicknesses and roll lengths to accommodate different mold dimensions and manufacturing requirements.

Customized P100 widths and alternative roll lengths can also be arranged according to production capabilities and order quantities.

Complete Composite Materials and Consumables Supply

In addition to vacuum bagging films, JLON supplies fiberglass reinforcements, carbon fiber fabrics, PVC and PET foam cores, release films, peel ply, infusion mesh, sealant tapes and resin-flow tubing.

Applications of Standard Vacuum Bagging Films

Marine – Fiberglass Boat Hull and Deck Vacuum Infusion

Vacuum infusion is widely used in fiberglass boat manufacturing to produce hulls, decks and other composite components.

During the infusion process, vacuum bagging film forms a sealed enclosure above the dry reinforcement and core materials, allowing vacuum pressure to be applied to the laminate.

JLON P100 provides a cost-effective film option for compatible lower-temperature marine infusion processes using polyester or vinyl ester resin systems.

NL150 may be considered for marine composite manufacturing processes requiring higher thermal resistance.

Both films should be selected according to resin chemistry, mold geometry, maximum processing temperature and the required vacuum cycle.

Wind Energy – Wind Turbine Blades and Nacelle Covers

Wind energy components often require large mold surfaces and substantial quantities of vacuum bagging consumables.

Wide-format vacuum bagging film helps reduce the number of seams required when covering large composite structures.

JLON supplies P100 and NL150 for selected wind energy manufacturing processes.

P100 is suitable for compatible lower-temperature FRP applications, including selected wind turbine nacelle covers.

NL150 offers additional thermal capability for suitable wind blade infusion, prepreg compaction and other composite processing operations.

The appropriate film depends on the component, resin system and curing schedule.

Industrial FRP Panels and Molded Components

Standard vacuum bagging films are used in the production of industrial fiberglass panels, composite covers and other molded FRP components.

JLON provides modified PE/PP and nylon/PE film options, allowing manufacturers to select a grade according to thermal requirements, mechanical properties and production costs.

Wide roll formats are particularly useful for large industrial molds and repetitive composite manufacturing operations.

Sanitary Ware and Building Products

Selected composite sanitary ware and building products are manufactured using vacuum-assisted processing methods.

P100 can be considered for compatible lower-temperature applications such as molded sanitary components, fiberglass panels and other FRP building products.

Its high elongation helps accommodate suitable curved mold surfaces and irregular component geometries.

Composite Mold Manufacturing

Vacuum bagging films are also used in the manufacture of composite molds and production tooling.

NL150 may be suitable for selected medium-temperature tooling applications where its thermal and mechanical properties match the required processing conditions.

Film selection should account for curing duration, mold geometry, vacuum level and compatibility with other consumables.

How to Choose Between P100 and NL150 Vacuum Bagging Film

Selecting the appropriate vacuum bagging film requires consideration of resin chemistry, processing temperature, exposure duration, mold dimensions and production cost.

For cost-sensitive fiberglass vacuum infusion processes operating within its specified temperature limits, P100 is generally the more economical option.

For compatible manufacturing processes requiring greater temperature resistance, NL150 provides an alternative nylon/PE construction.
