HDPE Spiral Tube for Vacuum Infusion

This plastic spiral tube is made of HDPE and used to provide a very free‐lowing channel through which the resin is distributed near the point where the resin is first fed into the composite. Resin flows freely through the center of the spiral tube, but just as easily out of the spirals in the side, allowing resin to be supplied all the way along an edge of the composite.

Features of Spiral Tube

Efficient Resin Distribution

The open spiral structure allows resin to flow through the center and exit along the tube, providing a continuous resin distribution channel during vacuum infusion.

Strong HDPE Construction

Made from HDPE with a sturdy tube wall, the spiral tube is designed to resist deformation under vacuum pressure during composite processing.

Flexible Installation

The spiral tube can be positioned along resin feed lines and laminate edges to accommodate different composite part shapes and infusion layouts.

Cost-Effective Infusion Consumable

HDPE spiral tubing provides an economical solution for resin distribution in composite vacuum infusion processes.

Customizable Specifications

JLON offers various tube diameters, wall thicknesses and spiral pitches to meet different resin flow and processing requirements.

How Does Spiral Tube Work in Vacuum Infusion?

During vacuum infusion, the spiral tube is positioned along the designated resin feed path, typically beneath the vacuum bag.

When vacuum is applied and resin is introduced, resin flows through the hollow center of the tube and exits through the spiral openings along its length.

This allows resin to be distributed along the feed line before flowing through the laminate, often with the assistance of an infusion mesh or other resin flow medium.

The tube diameter and placement should be selected according to the part size, resin viscosity and infusion layout.

FAQs of Spiral Tube

What is a spiral tube used for in vacuum infusion?

A spiral tube is used as a resin distribution channel in composite vacuum infusion. It allows resin to flow along the tube and exit through the spiral openings, supplying resin to the laminate.
